1967 Austin Wolseley 6110

Austin Wolseley 6110

There is no space here for a Wolseley, but the Austin A110 and Wolseley 6110 were basically the same car with different nose treatment. Designed by Farina in 1959 and powered by the 3 litre six found in the Austin Healey, they are superb open road touring cars. I am the second owner - my car was originally bought in Durban in January 1968 and was owned by the same family until 2004 when I stumbled across her. She had been standing for 10 years in a dry garage, so was very low mileage 36 000 miles at the time, and I have added another 6000 miles in the past 6 years. My biggest problems were as a result of the storage, as hydraulic systems hate not being used, as do petrol tanks, as the fuel deteriorates and then rusts the whole system. That aside she is beautiful. I did a complete strip down and respray in 2007, so she is currently as close to factory condition as I could hope to get. she is used for breakfast runs and runs up and down the coast on weekends. I think she is happy in her new home!
