1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia GT Sprint racer

Alfa Romeo Giulia GT Sprint racer

My historic race car.

Currently taking part in the local Trofeo and Classic Car Racing series at Killarney in Cape Town. The car needs slight bodywork to look great again. It has some mechanical mods to run respectable times, but a lot of little niggles and setup to sort out still.

I am running the number 152 in honour of the Y152 used by Basil van Rooyen on his GTA in the 60s. I would like to develop this car into a yellow/black Monzeglio GTA replica over time.

Drive a legend! 1964 Alfa Romeo GT Junior historic racing car (price neg)

Eligible to race in Classics, Alfa Trofeo or even Clubmans at Killarney. JUST GET IN AND RACE!

Ready for HTP documentation. Ready to race on Saturday in Classics at Killarney! Easy class E frontrunner, just did a 1:39 in practice while running in the motor... With some development and tweaking, it could be a class D or even C car...

Mods too many to mention, but here are some:

b2000 engine just redone by Eddie Visser:/b
New genuine Alfa rings and bearings
Fast Road Cams
Pocketed pistons
Weber 40 sidedraughts
Banana branch and freeflow
lightened flywheel
Has locked diff with good ratios and button clutch.

Track is widened
Front: Mercedes S-class springs, Coilover shocks, double anti-roll bars
Rear: Panard rod conversion (hard as nails)
Converted to rack-and-pinion steering setup

Rear: Std Alfa discs/callipers, recently serviced with Ferodo diamond pads.
Front: BMW 4pot callipers and vented discs and Ferodo diamond pads
Uses Ferodo Dot 5.1 brake fluid

Body mods:
Glassfibre bonnet and bootlid.
Plexiglass side windows
Plastic fuel tank in boot

Momo suade racing wheel
Racing bucket seat
Full 5 point safety harnass with FIA date stamps
Service-free fire extinguisher - MSA approved
Bolt-in roll cage
Battery box located in the car with internal and external cut-out switches

TSW 15 alloys (Alfa 8C design)
2x sets Continental 15 full slicks

Body recently resprayed and ok for a race car, but could do with a panelbeater touch-up to make it look like a showcar... hence the price.

Price is negotiable, but a give-away. Selling because of study commitments.

Please give me a call to take a look or make an offer if you are a serious buyer, car has to go!

These cars are getting more rare and are gradually increasing in value... An investment for any Alfa or classic collector.
