1968 Dodge GTS

Dodge GTS

DODGE GTS 1968, 360 ENGINE STD. 4 STICK ON THE FLOOR, THE ORIGINAL ENGINE WAS A 318 AND WAS CHANGED TO A 360 MOPAR ENGINE ABOUT 17 YEARS AGO, IM THE SECOND OWNER AND I BOUGHT IT 13 YEARS AGO FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER, SINCE I BOUGHT IT THE CAR HAS BEEN KEPT INSIDE MY GARAGE AND I HAVENT RUN IT MORE THAN 3,OOO MILES, THE CAR WAS ALWAYS KEPT IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.

THIS CAR IS NOT A RESTORATION, I KNOW FROM ORIGINAL OWNER THAT EVERYTHING IS ORIGINAL EXCEPT THE COLOR, THE SUN ROOF AND THE ENGINE. AS I SAID BEFORE THE CAR HAD BEEN KEPT IN MY GARAGE SINCE 13 YEARS AGO, I ONLY TAKE IT OUT TO RUN IT IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. THE REASON IM SELLING THE CAR IS BECAUSE A NEED OF MONEY, THIS IS A GOOD OPPORTUNITY FOR A CAR COLLECTOR OR MUSCLE CAR ENTHUSIAST.

CAR HISTORY
Dodge introduced a new GTS trim for its Dodge Dart line to compete against Chevys Nova SS. The hot GTS was available with either a standard 340 cid V8 with 275 bhp or an optional 383 V8 with 300 bhp. Coupled with its light 3,000 pound curb weight, the Dodge Dart GTS did very well on the street and the track. Other technical enhancements included a low-restriction exhaust system with chrome tips, Rallye suspension, 14x5.5 inch wheel rims and E70-14 Red Streak tires. A three-on-the-tree manual transmission was standard, though most GTS models were sold with either a four-speed Hurst floor shift manual or a competition-type Torque-Flite automatic transmission.
