1982 VW Nova

VW Nova

The Nova was designed in the UK by Richard Oakes, a sculptor, and it was a beautiful fibreglass body that sat on a VW beetle floor pan. When it was finished, it looked like a million dollar supercar, but dont start the asthmatic 1600 flat four engine as the supercar label soon disappears.

The T top was my idea and I sent photos to the factory in the UK where they soon offered the T top as an option. If only I could have had a Subaru flat 4 to drop in it would have been a different car.

The car is still on the road, 30 years after I made it and still a great head turner.
